41. Book review - Khullam Khulla - Rishi Kapoor's biography


I downloaded the  book after watching Kapil Sharma show. Frankly i feel that i cannot judge the book whether it is good or bad. The reason being I have lived my life with films so much so that the the names of Indian Film people have become part of my DNA. It feels to me like i know them. I am not a crazy fanatic fan but i am a very well read guy who has seen thousands of movies.

It didn't took me long to finish this book. The book is just a diary of Rishi Kapoor where he tells you everything about himself and you also get to know that Rishi Kapoor has an opinion about each and everything and before this, we just didn't know about it.  He is brash and wants things in his way and I have met people like him in my real life and hated them. I don't think I will meet Rishi Kapoor in real life and will like him.

But one thing stands out in this book and it is the honesty with which it was written. Rishi Kapoor Doesn't spare himself and when he is wrong like to call it. He knows sometimes where he is wrong and accepts and also accepts that he cannot change himself for a thing. He lived a Lavish life and his son continues to do so but I can sense an air of discomfort in his family due to him and his attitude which i have found in my home also. My father also believed in taking forward the family name and habit forward and sometimes he would insist those things on the family which had ruined many of our holidays.

I loved the biography because i loved the old times of 70's, that was my favorite time of film making. I think some of the best music and some of the best films were created in those times. Rishi Kapoor though has never been my favorite, I like his Karz and that was that. I liked action films with lots of fights and revenge, and probably that was the reason i liked Karz.

It is great to get an insight in the lives of superstar, after all I am going to become one some day. To know that they are humans and they behaved like one and had problems similar to everyone else makes you feel that you ca also reach there. It is not so difficult. Just a little bit more effort.

Baahubali was a blockbuster in every sense. I didn't like it because as a screenplay writer I found too many faults, which I thought if avoided it could have become a legend of a film. But the film was entertaining and lead its own culture. A lot of people around me loved it. That is the curse of learning filmmaking that I have to carry my entire life, I see filmmaking from many points of view, not just entertaining. I do VFX for my films too and I know how difficult of work that is. Baahubali-2 does not reveal much in its later trailer, except the visual effects and close beauty shots of actors. 75. A lesson from an IPS officer on success that you must not ignore. At least I didn’t.

A day ago I met an IPS officer. He is a good friend of mine. He is posted in Kerala and his name is Prateesh Kumar. He was here on a short visit to Mumbai so we decided to take a stroll around seaside just to remember the old times and talk about other stuffs of life. We decided to have lunch and dinner together and he was paying the money at every shop we went as I had not a single rupee in my pocket. 73. Reviewing Boston Legal : Supreme court Speech by Alan Shore ( For Aspiring Actors)

I am sharing this video with you so that you can rehearse the lines if you want to be an actor. I love this whole scene when i first watched it ages back and it still haunts me. The way James Spader has performed this whole scene astounds me still. The perfect intonation, gaps, punctuation, speeds, pauses and whole performance is just scintillating. the big revelation came to me when i started auditioning for acting and I decided to create my showreel. So I downloaded this episode and wrote down the entire speech. It is way too long firstly, and secondly English is not my first language so there was difficulty in speaking this language. But destiny had some better plans for me and taught me something which I could not have learned otherwise.
