93. Movie review | The beauty and the beast - Ahhh the Emma !!

The only reason I watched this film was because of Emma Watson. She didn't disappoint me. How can anyone be so perfect? Though I hated the kiss in the end because the man who should kiss Emma Watson has to be a perfect guy even if it for acting purposes, except that everything was good.

The story is simple, something which we have we have read and seen before. The good thing is that the Director and Writer have remained mostly true to the original story. The only thing that bothered me while watching the film were too long musical songs. There is a song on Gaston, the antagonist, where his best friend his praising him to lift his spirits and it kind of gets too long after a while. It was entertaining in the beginning but drags after a while. I loved the character of Gaston, played by Luke Evans marvelously, and provides the very much required comic relief in the otherwise heavily romantic film. Girls will love this film because the film survives on the ancient story of romance where the beast is waiting for a princess to come and release him from the curse. We know Emma right from the days when she played Hermoine and she still looks like a kid rather than a princess, though I believe she is more of a Goddess than a Princess. There is never a dull moment in the film except for lengthy songs which most people will love if they loved La La land, the most hyped movie of all time. There is a scene when the beast takes her to his library and makes a joke for the first time to Belle (that is Emma Watson's name in the film) and Emma smiles at him which immediately reminds you of old flirting technique in Indian films that if she smiles, she agrees. Hansi to Phansi

The film has great graphics, great set design, actually most of the time I couldn't differentiate between sets and graphics but some sets were really apparent like when Wolves attack Emma's Father (played by Kelvin Kline and before the credit role, it is very difficult to recognize him) and while watching that you know it is a set. The review of the film is incomplete without mentioning the dubbing of non-living characters on whom all the actors have done an awesome job of jabbing right dialogues at the right time with right one and humor. Those animated characters after a while start behaving like a real human in your head and you secretly wish that the curse on them never gets lifted. I know it is a cruel thing to say but trust me you will love those characters when you will watch the film. I have never seen any other version of "The Beauty and The Beast" but I was constantly updated by my Bhabhi about it. Unfortunately, the only thing I was interested in was Emma Watson. First she is very beautiful in a very traditional way, second, she has a British accent. It melts your heart when she calls her father "PEPAAAH" like proper British Lady.

I recommend this film. Well, my recommendation does not matter anyways because the film already is a blockbuster and the box office results have already proved its worth of seeing.
